CLASSIC CITY BAND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
For the last several years, the CCB Board has discussed, as past of the community music mission, instituting an annual
Music Scholarship Program for University of Georgia Music Education majors who have need. A gift to the band has made it possible
to begin such a program. Working with Dr. Skip Taylor of the School of Music at UGA as mentor, the Band will invite selected
Music Education majors to play the two main concerts and attend all rehearsals of the band season for a scholarship stipend.
Angie Manous, Joe Frank and Tom Cooper will administer this program. This program presents a wonderful
opportunity for young musicians who are majoring in Music Education to fulfill their community service obligations to the
University while assisting our band. The Classic City Band appreciates the
patronage of its fans throughout 2009 and the Board urges all band members who feel that they would like to support the Music
Scholarship Program to do so. All donors are listed, if they so wish, in every program for concerts in 2009-2010. All gifts
to the Classic City Band are tax deductible.
